On busy studio days it's not always easy to judge how everyone is feeling. Not everyone vocalises if they are having a bad day and it can be overwhelming to ask for consideration from other people. Our members learn many different, basic techniques during our projects. Often members would like to develop certain skills so we came up with our afternoon Focus groups. Started during the Pandemic restrictions when groups needed to be small, this was the perfect opportunity to work closely with members on techniques that they wanted to learn. Oswestry was a buzz with music and merriment on Saturday. Our weeks of lantern making workshops came to an end with a wonderful public lantern parade around Oswestry. The evening started with the illumination of our beloved Hillfort which stayed an eerie shade of magenta into the night. We had a great turnout for our Saturday Lantern making workshops at the Memorial Hall. The mug project started during our time in lockdown and at The Centre, in the height of pandemic restrictions when we were all dreaming of what we missed about "normal" life. Our annual raffle was drawn this week. First prize was a wall hanging, made up of members individual lino pieces which were screen printed onto the fabric and machine embroidered. Won by Jenny Humphreys who said "A beautiful prize, I cant wait to hang it." Second prize was a collection of 3 hand embroidered prints from the same collection.
